Not every session starts with a forecast. Sometimes the wind is there; sometimes it isn't. The WindSup V4 is built around that reality — a board that works as a capable SUP when conditions are flat and converts to a windsurfing platform when the wind fills in. One board, two disciplines, no compromises between them.
A Shape Borrowed from Surf Longboards
The WindSup V4's distinctive drop-like outline draws on surf longboard design principles — a shape optimised for glide, stability, and versatility across a wide range of conditions. In SUP mode, the step tail and concave nose section work together: the concave enhances directional stability, keeping the board tracking cleanly between paddle strokes; the step tail delivers the glide characteristic of a much longer board in sub-planing conditions.
When the Wind Arrives
As the WindSup V4 reaches planing speed, the step tail lifts clear of the water, effectively shortening the board by approximately 35 cm. The transition is immediate — the same board that glides smoothly under paddle power becomes a fast, responsive windsurfing platform. With the step tail engaged, the WindSup V4 is capable of speeds exceeding 27 knots, a figure that puts it firmly beyond recreational territory.
Daggerboard for Light Wind Control
A retractable daggerboard is standard across the entire WindSup V4 lineup. In light winds, the daggerboard enhances stability and keeps the board tracking without demanding constant correction from the rider. As the wind builds and the board approaches planing speed, it retracts cleanly — out of the way when drive and speed take over from stability.
Comfortable in Any Conditions
A generous V-shaped bottom runs the length of the board, paired with gently rounded, tucked rails. The combination absorbs chop and keeps the ride composed whether you're paddling through a swell or windsurfing in a gusty afternoon breeze. The board doesn't demand flat water to perform — it manages rougher conditions without asking more from the rider.
First Sensations on the Water
A second mast base insert on the nose allows an adult to introduce a young sailor to windsurfing through tandem use — the youth at the front, the adult in control of the rig. It's a practical feature that lowers the barrier to the sport, turning a shared session on the water into a first experience of windsurfing without the need for separate equipment.
Available in Two Constructions
The WindSup V4 is available in AST EVA and Bamboo constructions across two sizes — 10' and 11'8". Both offer the same shape and feature set; the construction choice comes down to weight preference and budget.
A board for sailors and paddlers who want options — and the performance to back them up.
