The first class innovations start at the tail. The STA (Step Tail Adapter) adds waterline and gives effortless glide in light winds. With or without the adaptor, the high aspect X fin gives exceptional speed both on and off the wind. Drag is virtually cut by the slender pintail.
Centrally, there are 2 daggerboard options. A narrow chord blade supplies lift to easily reach speeds up to 18 knots undoubtedly a performance benchmark. Or, choose a lower aspect foil for lighter wind or heavier sailors. On deck, modern day comforts have been added to all the classic fittings. Up front, the Malibu-style nose both straightens the outline and lends significant light wind support.
Remove the STA and a monster’s unleashed. Now half a meter shorter, the funboard feeling racers craved in the past springs to life.
