We know that windsurfing attracted the masses in the early days, and we know it was largely in the capacity of sub planning mode. It was light wind fun. Nothing wrong with extreme physical stuff,- which is only a natural progress for those capable and captivated, but if light wind windsurfing could be re-launched as 'fun', we believe it would be a massive boost for the sport.

Lets admit it; The industry has been focusing on performance rather than the user friendly, recreational side of it, which obviously led to an inevitable shrinkage of the lower end of the pyramid. Logically “new” tools were needed.

At Exocet we felt the time had come to re-introduce easy accessible “all condition” boards for a wider market, and the rapid interest and demand has been both encouraging and rewarding.

The development of the “unique” Kona range was nothing more than simple common sense, and we are proud to lead the way in this very exciting new direction of modern longboard sailing.

The new emerging longboard trend may change the direction of our sport, or once again complete it, with easy accessible boards for entry level sailors and those who want more time on the water.
