Chris Dimond from South Australia sent us some very interesting stories about their successful team sailing format, which we believe should interest speed sailors everywhere and perhaps in Europe in particularly. Countries with good venues like Holland, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, England, Denmark just to name a few, - naturally have active communities of Speedsailors.

It is simple; pick an opponent and challenge them on the water – without having to see their ugly faces.:) Sounds strange perhaps, but this is modern times – and by using sites like www.gps-speedsurfing.com - two or more teams can actually battle it out without being at the same venue, but in their home waters. Hey, this opens up for a World speed team title. Sweden vs South Africa if on a country level, or “Team Barefoot”, Belgium vs “Team Viking”, Denmark if on a fleet/club level. Some countries are blessed with better venues than others, but that’s part of the game.

Just want to share my little story with you.
I started windsurfing in 1993 at the age of 13, doing my first tumbling steps in a beginner course.
The way from beginner to an advanced windsurfer may seem massive, but with some determination and guidance - it is much easier than most people think. My learning curve was reasonably fast, and I felt a growing passion to help others enjoy the sport as quickly as possible.
I am an Exocet team rider today, and successfully competing internationally. Currently training One handed Shakas and Double Spocks, - so why should you not be able to learn a Duck Jibe or a 360? : read more :

The first real test for the X380 came at the Raceboard Europeans and it proved what many expected; The board has superior speed and pointing ability in all conditions. Pierre Loquet (FRA 93) won the title with two 1st. one 2nd. and one 3rd. after discarding a 4th. Interestingly his two bullets came in light wind as well as heavy conditions,- gusting to 35 knots.
It was three Warp X380’s at the Europeans, and they placed 1st, 3rd and 4th. with the defending champion, Patrik Pollak (SVK 1) in 4th. position after being disqualified in the first race. The X380’s placed in the top 3 – eleven times (out of 15 possible) during the 5 races – which must be considered a total dominance. : read more :
