Nice board. Had no idea a piece of Ophelia would stray off and come to my local beach and try to beat me into hamburger. It started off kinda yucky: 16-18 mph rainy and 30 dgrees or more onshore. THen nothing. Then hammering. Waves 10 feet (3 mtr). Sail 6,4 Aerotech AirX. Wind 2-32 sideon, sideoff, then finally sideshore.

The board did everything I needed it to do. Down the line, backside rides, and running away from any crunchy stuff.

So, I got to slog it, swim it, over power it, and smile on it all in one late afternoon sesh. Nice.

Just got my new Exo Pro Wave 105 strapped up...will get to put it to the test as we are getting slammed with a macking New Zealand swell at the end of the week...
Kinda looks like a blown up UWave 88 bred with a Cross 102...definitely different than the OWave 105 predecessor...super light feel with the "Pro" edition...

Hi Charles,
Not slippery at all...plenty of non-skid...

Really stoked that Exocet hasn't gone to the small 7" finbox and they still allow you to offset the back footstrap...

Hi Tonka,
Here are some shots comparing the OWave II 105 with the Exo Pro Wave:

Just rode it in logo to mast high waves, with 5.5m2 and 6.3m2 here in Cali...awesome board...love the lighter construction...shorter length fits in critical sections better...feels like less swing weight...same cushy ride as before...a little more balanced when shlogging...

http://surfingsports.com/images/exowave105_sf55_63.jpg

I sold two of them to sailors at the beach WITHOUT THEM EVEN RIDING IT!!!
They saw that it worked...that speaks volumes...

Last two shots on Page 1...1st 7 shots on Page 2...also on Page 3 & 4...

Just seen the photos,Wardog.
Wooowwww!
Very very good waves and not so strong wind pullin' you out.
You go on a bigger board then others. What's your weight?
Do you prefer new Exo wave feeling or UW2 is better for down the line riding?

Hi John,
I'm hovering around 90kg...~200lbs...
I like bigger boards in bigger surf...like Robbie said..."volume is your friend"...
I also tend to sail really powered up...don't like to shlog or be underpowered in the surf zone, if I don't have to be...
I have the UW2 78 and UW2 88...the new Exo Wave 105 Pro kinda feels like a blown up version of the UW2 88 with slightly more back foot orientation...and with the stability of the Cross thrown in when shlogging...man, does it plane up fast...much faster than the previous version...which I rode for two years and loved...

A few shots of UW2's going in sideoff, down the line conditions in this gallery...

Wardog,

Since you've had a bit of time on the Exo 105, can you give a comparison of it's turning ability compared to a *board E92? Since you said it it feels like a blown up version of a UW88, thinking it's got to be close.

Thanks!

I got a good day on the Exo wave 105 today. The weather men keep forcasting 5 to 10 and we keep getting a solid 20. It is great to see this happen for a change. The new board feels a lot like the old OW 105 in the corners but it planes way earlier. In a straight line you would think you were on a freeride board till you hit that first piece of white water and the board glides right over it. I was using the board with the 2006 Aerotech 6.2 Phantom. Definitly a perfect combo. The new board should cross over to bump and jump conditions really well. Maybe the weather guys will be wrong again, a repeat of today would be awesome.
